DISCOVERING THE MAGNIFICENT VENETO WHITES WINES

DAY 1

Airport arrival and meeting with our dedicated personnel. Assistance with the customs formalities and baggage claim then departure with private power boat for Venice. Accomodation at the Danieli Hotel overlooking the city and holding one of the most unique city view in the world.

DAY 2

The first day will be dedicated to the discovery of the production sites of one of the most famous and known wine in the world: the Prosecco. In the Sparkling version it won the palates of a public of all ages. It is also very well known among young crowds especially at the aperitif time. The main and traditional production area is the one of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene about an hour, by car , from Venice . First stop will be in Piavon di Oderzo, at the Rechsteiner estate, owned by the Von Stepski-Doliva’s Barons family. We’ll be visiting vineyards as well as the cellars with the antique barrels room, together with the expert sommelier who will explain every step of the wine-making process from the harvest until the bottling of the wines. After visiting the Villa and the cellar, a wine tasting will follow paired with cured meats and typical cheeses in the cozy tavern. Next to the tavern one can walk in an absolute tranquility immerse in nature among centenary plants of the sixteen hundred old Villa’s park. The following stop will be in Conegliano for a gourmet lunch in a famous restaurant which own an incredible collection of 3000 copper pots as well as an amazing selection of Murano’s glasses. In the afternoon we’ll be visiting one of the famous traditional wineries in Valdobbiadene which is well known for the high quality of its wines which started in 1919. Return to Venice for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3

Departure for Gorizia, Cormons where we would arrive in appx one and half hr by car. The whole day will be dedicated visiting two famous Collio wines production sites. At arrival we’ll hop on antique cars , with a dedicated drivers , who will take us through the vineyards and the smooth friulan landscapes. The area is well known for the production of the most famous Italian white wines issued by grape varieties as Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Grigio. Red wines with a base of Schioppettino, Tazzelenghe and Refosco are also very well appreciated, as well as one of the rarest dessert wine, the Picolit . All the wines tasting will be accompanied by typical products of the area like cured meats , susages and cheeses. Lunch will be held in an exclusive castle in Dolegna del Collio in a Michelin awarded restaurant with typical menu. In the afternoon return to Venice .Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4

The day will be fully dedicated to the magnificent Italian wine, the Valpolicella Amarone, product with air dried grapes of corvina and rondinella.
The production area is north of Verona among the Negrar, Fumane, Sant’Ambrogio,
San Pietro in Cariano towns.
We’ll be visiting a famous Villa owned by one of the famous Amarone producer. The Villa is one of the historical architectural jewel of the fifteen hundred, in Italy.
The wine produced in the vineyards surrounding the Villa has been in the Wine Spectator TOP 100 for five consecutive years. The private banquet will be preceeded by a wine tasting and a guided sensorial path.

In the afternoon will make a stop in Soave to visit one of the most famous producer of this white wine made with garganega grapes. Vineyards are planted on volcanic soils which gives to the wine strong mineral flavors. Return to Venice. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5

Hands-on Venetian Cooking Class with personal Chef An expert Venetian Chef will guide you in preparing traditional Venetian dishes, with only fresh and seasonal ingredients in a functional kitchen equipped with the most modern technology, with splendid views over surrounding villas and Venetian palaces. It lasts 4 hours, from 10.30 to 2.30pm, including lunch with the delicious dishes (e.i. Cicchetti, Gnocchi or handmade Tagliatelle, Baked Sea Bass with Potatoes, desserts as a delicious Fresh Fruit Tiramisu) you have prepared accompanied by special wines.

DAY 6

Specialty Foodie Tour in Venice A professional guide will pick you up at your hotel and make you discover the tastes of the Venetian cuisine having a walking tour off the beaten path through the hidden corners of Venice, where fishermen and locals live their everyday life. In the morning visit to one of the most ancient markets in the world, the Venice Market for fruit and vegetables at Campo de la Pescaria near Rialto Bridge (it was part of the ancient Rialto Market) along the Grand Canal, a perfect place where to admire the colors and the freshness of the regional products. The lunch will be at a local Bacaro where you can taste some excellent specialties. In the afternoon, walking tour along small charming calli until St Mark Square, having stop at an ancient and famous Cafè. Aperitif tasting in an ancient boutique Cafè in Saint Mark Square Experience the illustrious past and the popular traditions of Venice sitting in front of St. Mark’s Basilica, at the foot of the Clock Tower. Enjoy the magic atmosphere in this ancient Cafè, in Venice since 1750 and frequented by the great Richard Wagner, and learn how to prepare three famous Venetian aperitifs, the fresh Bellini, Rossini and Spritz. After the demonstration, relax yourself and enjoy your aperitifs as a Venetian noble!

DAY 7

Transfer to airport and departure.
